Figgers Foundation Awards $5,000 Scholarship at HANDY’s 20th Annual Scholarship Breakfast

July 14, 2025

The Figgers Foundation was honored to sponsor and attend the 20th Annual Scholarship Breakfast hosted by HANDY (Helping Abused Neglected Disadvantaged Youth), an organization committed to empowering youth through education, opportunity, and consistent support.

The event celebrated young people who continue to rise above their circumstances, striving for a better and brighter future. It brought together partners, mentors, and supporters from across the community in a moving tribute to resilience, determination, and the power of collective care.

During the celebration, the Figgers Foundation proudly presented a $5,000 scholarship to Mia, a remarkable student who will soon begin her college journey at Bethune-Cookman University, where she plans to major in education. Mia’s dedication to learning and her goal of becoming a teacher reflect the values we hold close — creating pathways for success and giving back to the community.

This scholarship was given in memory of Mia’s late father, a proud HANDY alumnus. The presentation carried deep meaning for both Mia and those who knew her father, symbolizing not only the continuation of a legacy but also the strength found in community support and shared purpose.

At the Figgers Foundation, we are committed to investing in the next generation by supporting students like Mia who are driven to make a difference. Through our educational initiatives and outreach programs, we work to create opportunities that help youth build strong, healthy futures.

We are incredibly proud of Mia and grateful to have been part of this inspiring event. Her journey is just beginning, and we look forward to seeing all she will achieve as she steps into this new chapter.
